Tony and I have both been seeing Chante for all of our haircare needs. Her salon is appointment only, which really allows her one on one time with her clients. We are excited for her as she moves to a new location on Dayton Boulevard soon.

Last month we had one Saturday and offered $1 mini sessions at Heritage Park in East Brainerd. We wanted to allow customers the chance to book a session with a $99 discount. We were rather pleased with the turn out that day.

When I heard that one of the children who attended the same daycare as my son had been diagnosed with a serious genetic illness, I started looking for ways to help.

Brynlee was diagnosed with mucopolysaccharidosis type 1, commonly referred to as Hurler syndrome. It is a very severe genetic disorder and requires many costly, painful procedures in order to treat it, including a bone marrow transplant. Brynlee is doing well so far, and we will be praying that the treatments are successful.

It turned out that in the chaos of dealing with the diagnosis, they hadn't thought to have any family portraits made. It was a tremendous honor to be able to meet the Thompson family and to create some beautiful memories for them.

We were so excited to finally welcome Baby Willow to the world. Misty is one of our nearest and dearest friends, and this little girl holds a very special place in our hearts. We were able to do some maternity pics before Willow made her debut.

 

 

Leah hosted Misty's baby shower earlier this year, and it had a ladybug theme. We had this hat made by Essie Bruell for Willow to carry on that theme.

Misty, Alex, and Deacon, Willow is so lucky to be born into such an amazing, loving family. She is the luckiest little girl we know. We love your family and consider ourselves lucky to be a part of Deacon and Willow's lives.

 

 

 

 

We had the chance to photography sweet Julia for her nine month session recently.

I love that we were able to use the Hoff's own back yard as a backdrop for these photos. Jennifer's grandmother used to own this house, so it holds a very special place in the heart of this family. Thank you, Jeramie and Jennifer for welcoming us into your home to capture such sweet images of Julia. We cannot wait to see her for her First Birthday session.

We had the pleasure of photographing the Lugo family recently at Fletcher Park in Cleveland.



Their son, Danny, is four years old and really reminds us of another four year old we know and love.



We had a great time getting to know the Lugo family, and we cannot wait to see them in front of the camera again.

We had the opportunity to get out in the beautiful weather this afternoon to photograph 20 month old John. It was pretty chilly out, but he didn't seem to mind. John and his parents were a lot of fun to work with, and we all had a great time.

We are going to be offering special mini-sessions this year in plenty of time for Easter. We're partnering with Noah's Little Ark to provide portraits of your child with an adorable bunny rabbit.

When and Where

The sessions will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010. In the event of rain, we will reschedule for Saturday, March 13. Each session will last approximately 20 minutes. We will be photographing at Heritage Park in East Brainerd. It is located at 1428 Jenkins Road.

Clothing

Dressy, white outfits are perfect for these portraits, but casual outfits are also an option. Please plan to arrive five minutes before your appointment to make sure we have the full 20 minutes to spend with your child.

Pricing and Ordering

The session fee will be $100 and includes one 8x10 print and 8 wallets (a $70 value). We will upload the photos to an online gallery the following day. Additional prints may be ordered from the gallery. In order to receive your portraits in time for Easter, all orders must be received by Friday, March 19.

We need to build up a portfolio of sample images for our new boudoir portraits. In order to do so, we're going to offer a great discount to the first three or four individuals to sign up for a session. If you're not sure what to get your significant other for Valentine's day, this would be a fantastic idea.

We'll be waiving the usual session fee, a savings of $100 and providing a free DVD slideshow as a way of saying, "Thanks for letting us use you as a guinea pig." We'll also be offering discounts of $25 to $100 on our print collections and albums from the session. If you don't like the pictures, it won't cost you a penny. We're going to be adding a whole range of new portrait services in the coming year. While our primary focus will still be on creating great portraits of children and families, we've decided to branch out into some new and exciting territory.



The first new addition will be a focus on lifestyle portraits. These will be on location portraits, similar to our current portrait sessions. Most of our current portrait sessions strive to create a studio environment in the clients home or outdoors. In a lifestyle session, the big difference is that we'll be using the client's home or yard as the background and focusing on capturing more casual, unposed images. We've done these before with great results, and I look forward to broadening our style.



The next addition is going to be wedding photography. This isn't necessarily new, but it's been on the back burner for the past year as we worked on growing our business in children's portrait photography. We're currently booking weddings for 2010 (and beyond). If you're looking for a professional, experience wedding photographer who doesn't charge an arm and a leg, then you should definitely check us out. We've already got a couple of weddings on the calendar for this year, so don't wait too long to get in touch.




We're also going to be offering an entirely new type of session for ladies only. We'll be offering an intimate portrait session to create some beautiful, sexy images to share with someone special. Since this is the first time we've offered this type of service, we'll be offering a great discount for the first few clients who give us a chance to get our feet wet. Leah will be taking the lead on these sessions, so please contact her if you're interested.

This young man will be turning one in early January. We had the opportunity to photograph him for his birthday invitations. He had a great time devouring his cake.



This is my favorite session that we offer. Something about the simplicity of a toddler and a cake. It's just magic.

We've been photographing Dyllan and his family since he was about three months old. He was a very cute baby and is an adorable toddler.

We had the opportunity to photograph Dyllan with his grandmother and his seven cousins. It required some careful arranging (and some compositing in Photoshop), but the results were great.



We also photographed Dyllan with his parents and sister for their Christmas cards. They are a wonderful family, and we've had a great time getting to know them.

We had the opportunity to photograph these three beautiful little girls again. A few weeks ago, we photographed their baptism at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

If it's difficult to get one six-month-old to sit still for pictures, it's three times more difficult with triplets.

We had a lot more luck photographing them individually. It's amazing how different their personalities are even at six months.

We had a great time working with them, and look forward to watching them grow up.

Last weekend, I was very fortunate to be a part of a major event for the Jackson family. Three six-month-old girls were baptized at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Chattanooga. It was a beautiful service, and I feel privileged to have been able to be a part of it.

The three girls were very alert and well behaved during the service.

They are a wonderful family, and they certainly have their hands full.

Piper is one of our Baby's First Year clients. She's now three months old, and just keeps getting cuter. She's really becoming a master of "tummy time."

I'm not sure that she appreciates the finer points of the game, but she certainly enjoyed dressing up to support her team on game day.

We're continuing a theme that we started with her newborn session of photographing her in a pink tutu.

She wasn't quite as happy about it this time around.

Piper is an adorable little girl. We're looking forward to seeing her grow up and being there to capture the memories.

I'm trying out Animoto for creating video slideshows. The results are pretty neat, I just wish I had a little more control over the process. Here's one that I did using images from a recent first birthday session.

We had the privilege of photographing Luke Teeters last weekend for his First Birthday session.

Gracie's mom called us and wanted to have some portraits done of Gracie since she recently lost her two front teeth.

We had a lot of fun with her, and according to mom and dad, captured her true personality.

This is Gracie with her Velveteen Rabbit. She has had this since she was a baby, and it goes everywhere with her.

We look forward to being able to photograph Gracie again. She was so fun!

We had the pleasure of doing a newborn session with Baby Nathan and his parents last week. He is a Baby's First Year client, so we look forward to watching him grow.

It's back to school time and that means shopping for school supplies and new clothes. This is a great time to show off that new wardrobe with back to school portraits. During the month of August, we will be providing two sheets of wallets to each child to share with their friends when school starts back.

Disclaimers: The kids don't have to actually be school age to get the free wallets. We recently had the pleasure of being contacted by Leah's high school friend Lauren. Her mother wanted portraits done of her five grandchildren since everyone would be in town. We took the group to Heritage Park in East Brainerd. They were a lively group to photograph and really kept us on our toes.

We had a great time yesterday at the home of Erica Dowis doing a Mommy and Me Portrait Party. This was our first Portrait Party, and it went off without a hitch. We are excited to be able to offer this service to our clients and we plan on hosting many more themed parties in the future.

We're going to be having our first ever portrait party tomorrow afternoon in Ringgold, Georgia. Our friend and client, Erica Dowis will be hosting it. The theme is "Mommy & Me" and we will be making some very cute, casual portraits of mommy and child(ren). We have three openings left for this great opportunity.

Since this our first time doing one of these, we'll be working out the details, but the plan right now is to offer these shorter sessions with a discounted session fee of $25. We'll have a special framed desk print available for purchase at $75. Of course, our usual guarantee is still in effect and there's no obligation to purchase anything.

Each mini-session will last about 15 minutes. After the sessions are finished, we'll prepare the images and display them on location, so you can place your order before you leave.

Last Sunday we had the chance to spend some time with the Ahlberg Family. The last time we photographed Braden, he was only a year old. We will be attending his third birthday party next weekend! His little sister is an absolute doll. We had a great time and look forward to working with them again.

We had the opportunity to photograph baby Deacon again last weekend. He's grown a lot since his newborn session.

Like last time, Deacon was very cooperative. He looked great in his Santa hat.

We used the session to create some family portraits for Christmas cards as well.

Here are a couple of images from a recent maternity session. We made these images outside just before sunset. The light was great, and there was a lot of love between Kaylee and Casey.

The baby is due in about a week, so there should be newborn images soon.

I had the opportunity to photograph Deacon at 6 weeks old with his parents. He was amazingly cooperative.

We made some great images while he was awake.

Then he decided to take a nap, so we moved him around and got some more shots.

I had a great time working with Deacon and getting to know Misty and Alex. I'm already looking forward to his 3 month session.
